SHE Project

Sanitation, Hygiene And Empowerment Project for the Girl Child

We partnered with SEWA.usa

on SHE-CAF Campaign 2022

Thousands of women and adolescent girls in remote villages in India need access to toilets in their homes and at schools. Many teenage girls drop out of school due to a lack of sanitation facilities. Sewa, through its Sanitation, Hygiene, and Empowerment Project for the Girl Child (SHE) program, is building school toilets. Educating children on sanitation and hygiene and providing reusable Sanitary Napkins has also been a part of the SHE initiative.

At Contra Costa county schools

We supplied sensory tools/toys for elementary kids.

This helps in calming kids and helps them focus in class enabling them to learn.

In today's fast-paced world, it's essential to nurture the mental wellness of our children. Kids, especially those with ADHD, often struggle to find inner peace and focus in school. Sensory toys have proven to be a valuable tool in helping children navigate the challenges they face daily.

For children with ADHD, the classroom can be an overwhelming environment. Sensory toys are designed to engage multiple senses, providing a calming and soothing effect. These toys come in various forms, from stress balls to fidget spinners and textured fabrics. They encourage tactile exploration, which is particularly beneficial for kids with ADHD.

The tactile sensation offered by sensory toys can help children manage restlessness and anxiety, two common challenges for those with ADHD. These toys provide an outlet for excess energy, allowing kids to release built-up tension in a non-disruptive manner.

Moreover, sensory toys can also help children focus better in the classroom. By offering a safe and non-distracting way to channel their energy, kids can pay more attention to their lessons. This increased focus can lead to better academic performance, improved self-esteem, and a happier learning experience.

Incorporating sensory toys into the daily routine of kids with ADHD is a small but impactful step towards enhancing their mental wellness. These tools offer a means to calm, soothe, and regain control, empowering children to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

The Power of Gratitude in Boosting Mental Wellness

Held several letter-writing events at various locations in different cities giving our community to express gratitude.

Sometimes, it's the simplest gestures that have the most profound impact. When we express gratitude, we're not just saying "thank you" – we're sending a powerful message to our minds.

For veterans, this can be particularly meaningful. A simple "thank you for your service" can go a long way in boosting their mental wellness. Gratitude psychology tells us that when we focus on the positive aspects of life, we create a ripple effect of positivity in our minds.

Partnership with Edgewood Center for Children and Families

It may look like a craft class, but art therapy is a serious technique that uses the creative process to help improve the mental health of clients. Art therapy can be used on children and adults to treat a wide range of emotional issues, including anxiety, depression, family and relationship problems, abuse and domestic violence, and trauma and loss. Commonly found in hospitals and community centers, art therapy programs are based on the belief that the creative process is healing and life-enhancing. As they paint or draw, a skilled therapist can use the client's works of art and their approach to the process as springboards to help them gain personal insight, improve their judgment, cope with stress, and work through traumatic experiences.
